Built on Thorogood's exlcusive MAXWear Wedge outsole, these work boots follow in the footsteps of traditional wedge soles possessing the lightweight flexibility and surface contact favored by ironworkers and carpenters, but with a 20-30 percent long lifespan. The MAXWear is also made of polyurethane rather than rubber like its ancestor, giving it shock-absorbing qualities. A wedge outsole is for the most part flat and does not include a heel, which puts less stress on your foot and allows you to reposition more easily and safely without fear of a heel getting caught on something. Made of rugged leather with Goodyear storm welt construction, these work boots are built super tough. A Goodyear welt means that the sole is sewn to the upper rather than glued, providing a more reinforced design and extending the overall life of the boot by allowing the sole to be recrafted multiple times.
