The Iron Age Groundbreaker is a rugged work boot for men with an external metguard and steel toe for superior protection, and tons of other great features to help you dig in and not let up all day long. With an upper using only the toughest part of the hide, that is full-grain brown leather, these work boots are wickedly tough against abrasions, oils, and chemicals. On top of that, full-grain leather will form a protective patina over time rather than wearing out like treated leather, giving you years of wear that make the Groundbreaker a sound investment for the long haul. This is supplemented by Goodyear welt construction, which means that the outsole is stitched to the upper rather than glued in order to help prevent separation and allow for multiple resolings. Did we mention the stitching is Kevlar? Yeah, THAT Kevlar. Additionally, Kevlar is designed for heat-resistance making it less likely to ignite when hit by stray sparks.

Moving on to safety, the Groundbreaker features an external metguard and steel toe to protect your feet against heavy falling or rolling objects, both of which are ASTM F2413 certified for meeting all standards for safety footwear, to give you peace of mind. Beneath these work boots, you'll find a tough Vibram oil and heat-resistant outsole, engineered for protection against metal shards, chemical breakdown and melting on hot surfaces, making them great if you're a welder, metal, or steel worker.

On the inside, the Groundbreaker features an EVA cushioned footbed with a spongey rubber heel for plush comfort that lasts your whole shift and then some. EVA is a material often found on high-performance athletic footwear, and is regarded for its shock-absorbing qualities.
