The coyote tactical assault panel (TAP) is an adaptable combat-ready platform intended to replace the Fighting Load Carrier (FLC) system. It is designed for use with a chest rig and be fully compatible with the Improved Outer Tactical Vest (IOTV), Releasable Body Armor Vest (RBAV) and Modular Body Armor Vest (MBAV) currently in use by military operators. Since the TAP is attached only to the front panel, it retains its quick-release function and gives the user assured emergency release access to each piece of their gear including spare rifle mags, Global Positioning Systems (GPS) and other critical devices, as well as any chosen additional MOLLE-compatible pouches and accessories like Individual First Aid Kits (IFAK) and weapon holsters. The TAP features release adapters to be worn with a plate carrier system, as well as an adjustable, removable harness for standalone wear. Every inch of the TAP is constructed of coyote brown 600 Denier polyester, a popular material used on tactical and military gear due to its toughness.
