These chemical light sticks come in packs of 10 and are excellent self-contained, temporary light sources when electricity or a flashlight is not available. With a simple snap, the luminous chemicals housed within the light stick mix together to create a glow. Since they don't give off a significant amount of heat, they're safe to use in close-quarters indoor areas or heavily wooded environments in which open flames or sparks might be dangerous. Additionally, they can be used underwater or in high winds without failing to light your way or signal for help. These light sticks have a 12-hour duration and are great for hiking, camping, hunting and emergency survival situations.
10-Pack Emergency Chemical Light Sticks Features:
- 12-hour duration
- Package of 10
- CE certification for health, safety and environmental protection
A Guide to Chemical Light Stick Colors:
When it comes to choosing a chemical light stick color, it's not about choosing your favorite. Rather, it's about choosing based on how they'll be used. Each color is good for different situations, and its always best to be prepared for it all.
- Red: The hardest color for humans and animals to see. Preserves night vision without giving away your position
- Green: Gives off the brightest, most visible light. Good for signaling your position over long distances (up to a mile) and topographical map reading
- Blue: Not great for map reading, but another good choice for being seen over long distances (up to a mile)
- Yellow: Great for illuminating your immediate area. Provides enough light for rooms, hallways, stairwells and the path back to camp. Can also be used to signify "caution" to passing drivers in the event of a roadside emergency
- White: The best choice for illuminating large areas when electricity isn't available. Gives off intense, visible light
- Orange: Ideal for emergency situations and signaling for help. Gives off an intense, visible light
