This military boonie hat is made of durable and lightweight rip-stop fabric to reduce everyday wear and tear. The boonie hat was first worn by soldiers serving in the jungles of Vietnam, and was used to keep their heads cool in that high-humidity environment in addition to keeping the hot sun from beating down on their heads. This rip-stop boonie hat offers the same benefits as its ancestor, featuring four screen side vents that allow for ample ventilation throughout the scalp, and a wide brim to protect against harmful sun rays.
